Unremarkable
We design and build websites. The name is the only modest thing about us.
The rule
Unremarkable has one rule, and it overrides every other: it never is.
Every site we make has to impress everyone who meets it, whether they see it, hear it through a screen reader, feel it in braille or send an agent to fetch it for them. A site that dazzles the eye and stumbles in a screen reader isn't impressive. It's half finished.
How we build
- Built for people who hear the web. Every site is tested with a screen reader by someone who uses one every day, not run through a checker and declared done.
- Built for the agents people send. Every page has a Markdown twin, and every site has an llms.txt, so an AI agent sent by a person gets exactly what that person would.
- Built to a standard. Our sites are built to Zero Information Casualty v1.7: nothing published is lost on its way to any reader.
- Built to last. Static pages, served fast from the edge, readable without a single line of JavaScript.
The work
- carrados.com The frameworks, the Papers and The Blind AI: writing about AI and blindness that is accountable for its evidence.
- charli.info The front door of the CharliVerse, a shared fictional world, and CharliPedia, its memory.
- blind-ant.com Charlotte Joanne's making practice: design fiction, stories, games and the working objects behind them.
- zeroinformationcasualty.org The web standard every one of these sites is built to.
- charli-jo.com Accessible service design for people and the agents they send.

When you find those three words at the foot of a page, the site is ours. Hold it to the rule.
